Pincha Shawl, designed by Pinpilan Wangsai, for Knitty's Spring+Summer 2016 issue.  Pinpilan designed Pincha specifically for these high-contrast variegated yarns "Pincha" is Sanskrit for "peacock feather").  This garter stitch-based pattern utilizes short rows to take advantage of these color repeats, resulting in a striking shawl with zig-zags and an edge resembling feathers. We've used one skein of Araucania's Huasco, in color Rio Grande.  It's shown with a Foofaraw shawl pin.
When we ordered Driftone, a 100% cotton yarn, last summer, it proved to be popular due to its tonal colors and airy chainette construction.  Our shop model of Purl SoHo's popular Notched Hem Tank Top used just over 4 balls for the 37" size, in color 05/Green.  Click here to go to the Ravelry page for the pattern information, and here to go to the pattern page on Purl SoHo's site.  We recently received a shipment of Driftone in all the colors available (sadly, it seems the yarn has been discontinued by Plymouth).
Knitspiration - Sling Shawl

Bulky Yarn for a Summer Project?  You bet!
A perfect accessory to wear over a t-shirt or dress in the cooler evenings of summer, this cute asymmetric vest is a fast knit on US size 19 needles and a ball of Cascade Magnum.   Magnum is a loose singles construction out of 100% Peruvian highland wool, and 120 yards at 250 grams makes it easy to complete a project like this pattern, Ponchette, by Siobhan Brown, also available as a Ravelry download for $4.68.  Color shown is Moss.  We also have a good selection of buttons to chose from to finish the vest.

Phairo Scarf
A perfect accessory to wear in spring and into summer, Phairo is knit in the round and utilizes columns of dropped stitches to give it its distinctive look and wonderful drape.  Our shop model was made using 2 skeins of Araucania Alumco, which is a 50/50 blend of cotton and viscose.  Pattern was originally published in Knitscene magazine, and is available for purchase directly from Interweave Knits.  Click here to see the pattern information on Ravelry.
